We are the extension of our parents. When we are toddlers we don’t know better … or do we?
Ever since I was a kid I noticed my surroundings and the actions of adults didn’t not make sense.
I will ask my father about something and he will always answered with an assumption instead of admitting ignorance on this topic.
Why will my dad “lie” to me my whole life? It wasn’t his fault or my mom’s.
It was the fault of an already faulty relationship dynamic between two cultures that were stubborn enough to manage to torture themselves for decades.
My father comes from a poor and low education background. All of his dreams and accomplishments were destroyed by my mother’s fear of society.
Gladys, didn’t know better. Her brain and mind have been choked with pills, gossip, tantrums, physical and mental punishment of a fearful generation of imperialist, classicist and discriminatory history.
She had to endure all the discrimination of the time while been a white, young beautiful woman.
Eventually .. she gave up. She got tired of pursuing her dreams.
She went into a deep depression.
